Early Life
McKee attended Centennial High School in Corona, California. He played in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and the 2018 Polynesian Bowl, earning MVP honors in both games. He later committed to Stanford University to continue his football career.
College Career
Before joining Stanford, McKee served a two-year mission in Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He played his first season for the Cardinal in 2020, where he appeared in one game, completing three passes for 62 yards against the then 12th-ranked Oregon Ducks. In 2021, McKee competed for the starting quarterback role with Jack West. Although West started the season opener against the Kansas State Wildcats, McKee still threw 18 passes, completing 15 for 118 yards and a touchdown.
