Kate Ritchie began her acting career at a young age, landing her first role as Molly in the 1986 Nine Network mini-series Cyclone Tracy, which starred Chris Haywood and Tracy Mann. At just 8 years old, she joined Home and Away in 1987, with production starting just before her ninth birthday. The show debuted on the Seven Network in January 1988, and Ritchie became one of its standout stars, playing Sally Fletcher for 20 years.
In 2006, she played Nicole in the ABC film Stepfather of the Bride and appeared on The Friday Night Project and Loose Women while promoting Home and Away in the UK. In November 2019, following a domestic incident, Webb agreed to an AVO (Apprehended Violence Order) to protect Ritchie from any further harm or threats. In August 2022, Ritchie was caught drink driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.06 and was subsequently suspended from driving for three months.
