He reached the semifinals of the 2022 Road to UFC Lightweight Tournament after his opponent, Patrick Sho Usami, was disqualified for failing to make weight. In the semifinals, Jubli triumphed over Kyung Pyo Kim of South Korea by split decision. Jubli hails from Bhatwari, a village in the Uttarkashi district of Garhwal in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. His family’s roots trace back to Jubbal in Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh, which is why they adopted the surname Jubli. His father worked for the Border Security Force, and due to his father’s frequent transfers, Jubli spent his childhood in various parts of India. Eventually, his family settled in Dehradun.
In his early years, Jubli focused on preparing for the Combined Defense Service and Services Selection Board exams, hoping to secure a position in the Indian Army. In 2015, following a friend’s recommendation, he began watching mixed martial arts (MMA, which sparked his interest in the sport). Jubli earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and worked as a school teacher before fully transitioning into MMA.
