Early Life and Education
Pederson was born in Bellingham, Washington, and grew up in Ferndale, Washington. He attended Ferndale High School, where he was an All-State athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. His high school quarterback coach was Ray Ramsay. After high school, Pederson went on to graduate from Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe), where he played quarterback from 1987 to 1990.
