Teller was born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, to Merry, a real estate agent, and Michael, a nuclear power plant engineer. He has two older sisters, Erin and Dana. His paternal grandfather was of Russian Jewish descent, with additional English and Irish ancestry. The family moved to Citrus County, Florida, when Teller was twelve.
Growing up, Teller developed a passion for acting and became the president of his high school’s drama club. He also played several instruments, including the alto saxophone, drums, piano, and guitar. In addition, he was an avid baseball player and had aspirations of turning professional. Teller graduated from Lecanto High School in Lecanto, Florida, before moving to New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
