Early Life
Galloway was born in Ayr, Scotland, on June 6, 1985. He grew up in nearby Prestwick and attended Prestwick Academy. Although he briefly considered a career in football, playing for the Prestwick Boys youth club, his interest in wrestling grew after reading a magazine about conspiracy theories and ghost stories at the age of 10. This led him to write a letter to the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act, which resulted in the FBI sending him a file with documents. A fan of professional wrestling from a young age, Galloway began his training at the age of 15. His parents supported his decision, as long as he maintained focus on his education, which he did. He earned a master’s degree in criminology from Glasgow Caledonian University.

At the age of 15, Galloway began training at the Frontier Wrestling Alliance’s Academy in Portsmouth after his family moved there. His training was overseen by Mark Sloan, with additional mentorship from experienced wrestlers like Doug Williams, Paul Burchill, and Alex Shane.
