Óscar Gutiérrez was born on December 11, 1974, in Chula Vista, California, a suburb of San Diego County. His parents, Maria del Rosario and Roberto Gutiérrez, were both Mexican nationals from humble, uneducated backgrounds. Maria worked as a house cleaner, while Roberto was a factory worker.
